The Great Big Car Show, S1E1
Welcome to the very first episode of the Great Big Car Show! Every week we bring you all of the latest news from the car industry, our favorite car videos of the week, and give you a place to share yours. So first, let’s dive into this week’s news, starting with RAM who announced their heavy hitters for 2025.
The New RAM 2500 and 3500 Heavy Duty Pickups
The RAM 2025 2500 and 3500 Heavy Duty lineup
That is the all new 2025 RAM 2500 and 3500 Heavy Duty pickup trucks. And yeah, it’s got a HEMI. With 6.4 liters, 405 horsepower and 429 pound feet of torque. Unless of course, you’re like 70% of RAM heavy duty buyers, and prefer your trucks powered by diesel. In that case, you’re in for a treat. Ram is launching a brand new Cummins 6.7 liter, inline-6, high-output, Turbo diesel that boasts 430 horsepower, and a best-in-class 1,075 pound feet of torque. Grunt noise. Amirite?
Combine that with their column-shifted Torque-Flite HD eight speed transmission, and you’ll be hauling up to 35,610 pounds with a more fuel-efficient 3.42 rear axle ratio. Visually they’ve been upgraded as well, with a new grille, and standard led headlights and taillamps.
Inside you’ll find a new 14.5 inch screen, a 10.25 inch just for your passenger, a 12.3 inch digital instrument cluster, AND a digital rearview mirror. Yo dog, we heard you like screens. Safety is still a priority too, with standard adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning-Plus, ParkSense front and rear park assist, drowsy driver detection, traffic sign recognition and active lane management.
The new 2025 RAM 2500 Heavy Duty starts at $47,460, while the 2025 3500 Heavy Duty starts at $48,565. They should start arriving at dealerships in Q1 of this year.
The NEW 2025 Porsche 911 Carrera S
2025 Porsche 911 Carrera S
The 2025 Porsche 911 Carerra and Carrera GTS have a new stable mate that plans to bridge the gap between the two. THIS is the all new 2025 Porsche 911 Carrera S. It has a 473 horsepowah 3.0 liter twin-turbo boxer engine that’s up 30hp over the previous Carrera S. Those extra horses come from new turbochargers, which now push the Coupe from 0 to 60 in as little as 3.1 seconds, a .2 second improvement. Finally I’ll have time to write that book.
When equipped with the Sport Chrono Package, it’ll reach a top track speed of 191 mph, or a top school zone speed of 20. Mostly so the hot moms can see my ride. Porsche said they’ve significantly upgraded the standard equipment too, including a sport exhaust with silver pipes, and brakes taken from the previous GTS model. If you’re willing to toss in a few extra bucks, you can equip it with PCCB. The Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes. Yeah, do the brakes on your camry have an acronym? Didn’t think so.
The interior got some attention too. There’s more leather in the seats, headrests, upper dashboard, and upper door panels. It’s still a 2 seater by default, but you can option in a hilarious back seat for the lols at no cost. If you really want to make this thing your own, you can opt for the Manufaktur Leather interior, which can be chosen with up to 48 possible two-toned combinations.
So what are you waiting for? Oh yeah, we can’t afford this. But if we could, we’d only be on the hook for around $146,400 in rear wheel drive coupe form, or $159,600 as a cabriolet. Deliveries are expected to start in the spring.
The 2026 Honda Zero Series
2026 Honda Zero Series
Honda brought a pair of insane new prototypes to CES this week. The Honda Zero Saloon and Honda Zero SUV are a peek at Honda’s new Zero Series electric models coming in 2026.
These vehicles feature the company's "Thin, Light, and Wise" design philosophy, providing spacious interiors and advanced technologies. Ok sure, but would you look at those exteriors? The front of that saloon is a Gallardo, and I’m not even mad. And the SUV has this crazy retro future feel that absolutely stirs my coffee. Great job Honda.
Both cars are built on Honda’s newly developed dedicated EV architecture, and will be built here in Ohio at the new Honda EV Hub. Am I crazy? Are these things cool looking?
2023 Toyota Prius Nightshade
2025 Toyota Prius in Nightshade Trim
The 2023 Prius caught everyone off guard by looking, well, good. And as it turns out, it’s pretty darn good on the inside too, landing it on car and drivers 10 best list for 2024, and crowned Motortrends Car of the year for 2024 as well. So for 2025, Toyota thought they’d give the Prius cool new trim. They call it Nightshade.
Based on the XLE, Nightshade adds 19in black finished alloy wheels, black exterior badging, a black shark fin antenna, black front door handles, black bumper trim and an exclusive color, Karashi. If you’re not a high-speed banana person, you can also get the Nightshade trim in Midnight black metallic or Wind Chill Pearl.
BMW Panoramic iDrive
BMW also showed up to CES where they’re reimagining the cockpit from scratch, and unveiling BMW Panoramic iDrive. This new driving interface concept includes a heads-up display that puts a ton of information along the bottom of your windscreen, spanning from a-piller to a-piller. The area directly in front of the driver will feature the most important driving information, while the center and right will be customizable. There’s also a new 3D Head-Up display, that puts animated navigation and automatic driving information on your windscreen, making it appear to float over the road ahead.
The new Panoramic iDrive includes a central display and a new multi-function steering wheel with honest to god physical buttons with dynamic lighting and haptic feedback. All of this is powered by BMW’s new “Operating System X”. BMW said we can expect the new displays and operating concept to be introduced across all new bmw models from the end of 2025.
